Spiggos E. Michael is an Electrical Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Environmental Design of Cities and Buildings. Since 2009, he has been professionally active in Corfu as a designer and supervisor of Electromechanical, energy and environmental installations in a wide range of technical and construction projects.
As a forensics investigator of the Ministry of Justice, he collaborates with the Fire Service, the Hellenic Police and the Central Port Authority of Corfu, undertaking cases of urban/forest fires, floods and personnel accidents.
He also demonstrates years of educational experience as a teacher in vocational high schools (SAEK, IEK and EPAS), teaching the subjects of electrical installations, occupational health and safety, fire protection, electronic security systems, as well as energy and environmental subjects, having authored more than 10 technical books.
He has also been a speaker and has published scientific papers at international conferences in the fields of energy efficiency, new building materials, environmental design and fire protection of buildings, while he is one of the authors of the collective volume “Our buildings, climate change, the energy we need” (Malliaris Education Publications — ISBN: 9789606444128), participating with two chapters examining climate change, the phenomena of forest fires and floods, with Corfu as a characteristic case study.
